I won a Minted Editor’s Pick Award for my Surface Design: “Just Like Living in Paradise.”
I won another Editor’s Pick award on Minted.com for my surface design submission to their Pillow Fight Quickfire Fabric Challenge. My entry was one of 1800 entries and I am one of 60 winners. I’ve known about the award since January 2020, but Minted just launched my design this week.
I am particularly proud of both of these entries because I used new skills and technologies to produce them. “On the Plus Side” was watercolor translated into vector graphics, and “Just Like Living in Paradise” is a combination of watercolor textures and Procreate artwork, and is the first pattern I made using Photoshop instead of Illustrator.
I’m thrilled to be a part of Minted’s artist community and look forward to other opportunities with them. Through them I’ve had designs (including this one!) picked up by major retailers. Thanks for the continued support and to those of you who voted for my entries in Minted’s design competitions!
Here is my winning entry: “Just Like Living in Paradise”
I like to use the Minted competitions to try new skills and techniques. This was my first attempt at a pattern using Procreate, Photoshop, and my physical artwork. Although I submitted many other designs that I personally like better than the one they chose, I’m happy that they chose some of my art.
“Just Like Living in Paradise” is for sale on home goods in my Minted store.
You can find it on pillows…

…placemats, table runners, and napkins…

and fabric by the yard.

Thanks again for voting and for your support. I’m pumped to see my design launched!
