What’s the 100 Day Project?
Michael Beirut started the 100 Day Project as a way to jumpstart creativity in design. It was meant to be a 5-10 minute, daily activity to get your brain going. Lindsay Thomson turned this into an online project a few years ago. The challenge is to pick a creative activity to do every day for 100 days.
This year’s project starts TODAY.
My 100 Day Project: 100 Patterns
Last year I discovered my love for surface pattern design and that love is still going strong! I am going to make a pattern every day for the next hundred days. I want to use a variety of mediums (paint, pen, pencil, pixels, ink, code).
My goal isn’t to have a polished repeat pattern each day, but to make faster creative decisions for pattern making. I want to get better at making in different mediums (specifically creative code, gouache paint, and traditional repeat pattern design on paper). And to become less precious about my design work in the process.
Wish me luck!
