I’ve been Minted!
I won an Editor’s Pick award on Minted.com!
I’m thrilled to be a part of Minted’s artist community and look forward to other opportunities with them.
Thanks to those of you who voted for my entries in the Minted.com wedding invitation challenges in January and February! One of my entries became an Editor’s Pick for the non-foil pressed wedding invitation challenge! My entry was one of 4611 entries and I am one of 284 winners. My winning entry, Alexis, is a bold invitation that’s inspired by modern art. This invitation is now for sale on Minted.com in eight (8) different colorways with all the coordinating materials.
I’ve known about the award since March, but Minted just launched the first part of my Alexis collection last Friday. This includes the basic paper wedding invitation items, like the invite, reception card, direction card, RSVP card, belly band, stamp, and thank you card.
Here’s a sneak peek at my Minted store:
Minted is still in the process of rolling out the rest of the coordinating items. In addition to what you see here, there will be:
- Custom web graphics
- Day of items, including: menus, programs, table numbers, favor tags, etc.
- All-in-one invitations (I’m most excited about these!)
Alexis Invitation Colorways
Minted required me to give them between three and eight colorways. Color is my FAVORITE design element, so I knew right away I would submit the maximum amount colorways. I designed 11 colorways but ended up using the eight you see in this post. I had fuchsia, gold, and bright green options that didn’t make the cut when I sent to my friends for review. (Thanks for the input!)
Trendy Colorways
Coral
This is the colorway I entered into the original contest. It’s not my favorite color, but I chose the Pantone Color of the Year (Living Coral) for my entry so it would be on trend.
Coral Reef
Even though the coral colorway above isn’t my favorite, I love the coral reef colorway because it includes some deep green and blue hues that I love. Deep greens and dark invitations are trending now as well.
It’s probably worth mentioning that Minted had to change my typeface from Flama to two other fonts that they have in their library. It’s not a huge deal because people can choose totally different fonts when they order, but I see the difference so I wanted to mention it in case you noticed, too.
Violet
This is clearly my favorite colorway. If we decide to throw a party for my 40th (gulp) birthday that ISN’T Twin Peaks themed, I’m using this invitation.
Neon
Neon is my second favorite colorway. Bright colors are trending right now in graphic design, so I couldn’t help myself and had to add a ridiculously bold color option.
Timeless Colorways
I tossed in a couple of options for ever-popular wedding colors, including teal, lilac, royal blue, and blush. These aren’t my favorites, but these colors are used frequently for weddings and I wanted to cater to my audience. I particularly like the royal because it has a more masculine feel and there aren’t a lot of invites catering to a masculine palette.
Teal
Lilac
This purple was one of our wedding colors, so I of course had to include it as one of the colorways for my Minted winning entry.
