Painted Thank You Card Tutorial
I love playing with paint, so I decided to take a stab at painting some thank you cards.
I have 25 poster-sized sheets of 140# (extra heavy) weight Speckletone Starch White leftover from the wedding. That paper has been itching for me to mess with it. I have seen a lot of painterly stationery lately and wanted to try my hand at making my own.
I used a dry fan brush and swiped a few strokes of acrylic over the paper. Then I waited (impatiently) for my creation to dry so I could cut it down to A2-sized cards. This took longer than I’d hoped and it was hard for me not to touch the wet paint. The texture is so inviting!
I cut my sheet into 18 cards and 6 business cards. I don’t have a way to print on the business cards (yet!), but figured I’d rather cut some of those than throw away the scraps. Here are a few of the cards, to which I’ve added a simple “thank you” and paired with a matching envelope.
