Totally procrastinating (or teasing you?) on the vacation recaps. But I have to share this.
I’ve already told you guys about Andrew WK, but in case you missed it, I thought I’d reiterate his awesomeness. I’m not sure what genre you’d call his music, but I’ll call it “party metal”.
You can’t NOT get psyched listening to him. And I get to see him live tonight for the first time. The best part? The venue is TINY. So I will get to actually SEE him. I want to get there early so I can get a beer (or two) and stand pretty much on the stage (my default spot for this venue). Hopefully not many people in Des Moines know about his awesomeness so I can thoroughly enjoy it without getting the shit kicked out of me, cuz I’m just not in the mood today. So. Exhausted.
Anyway, here are a few of his classics. I’m going to listen to his newer stuff all day at work today because I haven’t really listened. Every time I try to, I just keep going back to I Get Wet from 2002.
Um, also, I was wondering what to wear to the show, and now I think I’ve got it covered. Pit-stained white undershirt and jeans. 😉
Who are some of your favorite bands? And do you like live shows?
PS: for anybody wondering about the original image for the turntable (since I’m a freak about copyright), it’s copyright free (as far as I can tell), so I didn’t credit anybody. LOVE finding copyright-free images.Â
Alex @ Brain, Body, Because
Have fun! He actually did a speaking tour that hit Pittsburgh a few years ago, but it was just Q&As. Glad to hear he’s still having fun 🙂

And it was your first AWK post that brought me and you together.

OMG – Andrew WK. He once rode in my car in college – crazy hair and dirty white tshirt and all! College boyfriend and I were big fans and he totally took him to lunch in my car when he was in town for a concert. Totally fun blast of a concert. Totally lost on a lot of people =( She is beautiful was one of our college anthems!

Tess @ Cross Country Cajunoh man. that might be the coolest thing EVAR. he let everybody go up on stage so we were mosh pitting with him while he was doing his thing.
