During my travels to Austin, TX, I was introduced to a band called Metric.
And by introduced, I mean I actually figured out that the band I’ve been digging on The Current is actually Metric. And I’m in love.
They don’t have many official music videos, but this is one of the songs I’ve been listening to for a while on The Current: Combat Baby.
Also, turns out these guys are releasing an album next Tuesday. You’re welcome.
And here is their video for Black Sheep — which you might remember from Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. I actually love the scene from that movie where this song is played by The Clash At Demonhead, but embedding is disabled.

WHAT?! you JUST discovered metric?! oh i am so glad you did. but i am so sad you weren’t enjoying them sooner. they are FINALLY coming to SLC in october. i bought my tickets the minute they went on sale. i looooove metric more than almost all bands. they are in my top 5 for sure! xoxo

janethaI knowwww … I seriously need to pay more attention when I’m listening to the radio. I might see about getting tickets to the show in MN in September, but it’s on a Tuesday and I dunno what Mark’s doing jobwise. There was some other band I was looking at that wasn’t coming anywhere near me but was going to SLC. I can’t remember who it was because I looked up a ton lately (Iron Maiden maybe?).
