<p>This week I&#8217;m featuring <a href="http://www.kissmybroccoliblog.com/about/" target="_blank">Heather</a>&#8216;s blog, <a href="http://www.kissmybroccoliblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/IMG_7081.jpg" target="_blank" rel="lightbox[6829]">Kiss My Broccoli</a>. Heather&#8217;s from Tennessee and has a lot of sass.</p>
<p>Not only does her blog have a catchy name, it&#8217;s got some great stuff. Including a <a href="http://www.kissmybroccoliblog.com/recipes/" target="_blank">LOT of recipes</a>. And <a href="http://www.kissmybroccoliblog.com/2011/05/15/pancakes-fit-for-a-king/" target="_blank">pancakes</a>.</p>
<p>I started reading Heather&#8217;s blog sometime in the past few months along with all the other <a href="http://www.blendretreat.com" target="_blank">BLEND</a>s&#8217; blogs. I enjoy reading hers because she seems to have some of my personality traits.</p>
<p>Those of you who know me, I&#8217;m pretty sure you can see it in her profile picture. Um. Yeah. I think we might end up being BBFs (best blends forever &#8230; wow that was entirely too punny) after the retreat.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-7584" title="heather" src="http://www.chimesdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/a6ff2b1207ba98fc57993b4db5f06bc9.jpeg" alt="" width="200" height="200" /></p>
<p>[ via <a href="http://www.kissmybroccoliblog.com" target="_blank">kiss my broccoli </a>]</p>
<p>For instance can&#8217;t you see this happening to me? Her boyfriend went MIA for the evening and the <a href="http://www.kissmybroccoliblog.com/2012/03/23/shes-a-maniac-maniac-with-a-sponge/" target="_blank">crazy worry wart in her came out in a cleaning fury</a>. This post still cracks me up.</p>
<p>And it seems like she&#8217;s always got a fridge full of <a title="chobani" href="http://www.chobani.com" target="_blank">Chobani</a>. Jealous.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.kissmybroccoliblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/IMG_7081.jpg" rel="lightbox[6829]"><img class="alignnone" title="chobani" src="http://www.kissmybroccoliblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/IMG_7081.jpg" alt="" width="640" height="416" /></a></p>
<p>[ via <a href="http://www.kissmybroccoliblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/IMG_7081.jpg" target="_blank" rel="lightbox[6829]">kiss my broccoli </a>]</p>
<p>I also <a href="http://www.kissmybroccoliblog.com/2012/03/30/the-luck-of-the-irish/" target="_blank">found out about foodie pen pals through her blog</a>. And am now participating (yay!).</p>
<p>So if you have time, head on over to <a href="http://www.kissmybroccoliblog.com/2011/05/15/pancakes-fit-for-a-king/" target="_blank">Kiss My Broccoli</a> and show Heather some love!</p>
<p>\\\\\\\\\\\\</p>
<p>In other news, I finished my <a title="Wool Eater Wednesday: Progress" href="http://www.chimesdesign.com/blog/2012/03/21/wool-eater-wednesday-progress/" target="_blank">Wool Eater Blanket</a>.</p>
<p>Finally. AND I weaved in all the ends. So It&#8217;s finished. For realzies.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6751" title="cal2012" src="http://www.chimesdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/cal2012.jpg" alt="" width="280" height="372" /></p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-7508" title="Wool Eater Finished ooooor not" src="http://www.chimesdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/DSCN4661.jpg" alt="" width="550" height="410" /></p>
<p>It&#8217;s incredibly scrappy. I used up almost all my yarn. And go figure, the second I finished this thing, I found a big ball of yellow and a big skein of black. Maybe adding another row or two &#8230;</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-7510" title="more yarn" src="http://www.chimesdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/DSCN4671.jpg" alt="" width="550" height="522" /></p>
<p>But until then, I&#8217;m calling it done and using it. Except that Barney has already claimed it as his own. I guess I&#8217;ll have to ask permission.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-7597" title="barney blanket" src="http://www.chimesdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/DSCN4707.jpg" alt="" width="550" height="397" /></p>
<p>&#8230; or open up the windows in the living room so he forgets about the blanket and hangs out in the sun all day. He seriously won&#8217;t move.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-7598" title="sun dog" src="http://www.chimesdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/DSCN4734.jpg" alt="" width="550" height="379" /></p>
<p>But, I sincerely hope I don&#8217;t walk in on him &#8230; um &#8230; loving &#8230; my newly finished blanket. He has a thing for blankets. I don&#8217;t know WHY, but he does. He had his eye on this one before I had even finished it.</p>
<p><strong>Have you finished any big projects lately? </strong></p>

<p>I decided to make it official. I&#8217;m doing the <a href="http://sarahlondon.wordpress.com/2012/01/04/wool-eater-cal-2012/" target="_blank">Wool Eater CAL with Sarah London</a>. Hookin&#8217; ain&#8217;t easy.</p>
<p><a href="http://sarahlondon.wordpress.com/2012/01/04/wool-eater-cal-2012/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6751" title="cal2012" src="http://chimesdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/cal2012.jpg" alt="" width="280" height="372" /></a></p>
<p>A while ago I shared with you my <a title="Tu-tu-tu-Tuesday: Wool Eater Blanket" href="http://chimesdesign.com/blog/2012/02/28/tu-tu-tu-tuesday-wool-eater-blanket/">baby wool eater</a>. I pledged to only use my stash yarn while working on this.</p>
<p>Well, that was foolish, because this pattern truly lives up to its name. I&#8217;m to the point where 1/2 of a round (the bottom or top half of the scallop cluster) takes one full skein of yarn. Yup. So I&#8217;ve bought 8 skeins to finish out the last 4 rows. And I also used some yarns I shouldn&#8217;t have for this pattern &#8230; like a pink fluffy one and two sport weight yarns.</p>
<p><a href="http://chimesdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/DSCN4520.jpg" rel="lightbox[6750]"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6760" title="DSCN4520" src="http://chimesdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/DSCN4520.jpg" alt="" width="435" height="580" /></a></p>
<p>Here&#8217;s what I got. You can tell in this photo that I totally messed up the middle. I didn&#8217;t do the corners of the 3rd and 4th rows correctly. And I eventually corrected it, but it took a while for the weird wave to work its way out. Oops. But it makes for kind of a cool shape.</p>
<p><a href="http://chimesdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/DSCN4519.jpg" rel="lightbox[6750]"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6759" title="DSCN4519" src="http://chimesdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/DSCN4519.jpg" alt="" width="435" height="314" /></a></p>
<p>And in this pic, you can see the weird wonky right-hand corner. I counted the clusters up and down all 4 sides, and it looks like I need to add a cluster in the top row in this photo, and remove one from the side row. I put marker yarn where that needs to happen.</p>
<p><a href="http://chimesdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/DSCN4518.jpg" rel="lightbox[6750]"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6758" title="DSCN4518" src="http://chimesdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/DSCN4518.jpg" alt="" width="435" height="280" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://chimesdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/DSCN4517.jpg" rel="lightbox[6750]"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6757" title="DSCN4517" src="http://chimesdesign.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/DSCN4517.jpg" alt="" width="435" height="329" /></a></p>
<div class="pin-it-btn-wrapper-shortcode "><a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.chimesdesign.com%2Fblog%2F2012%2F03%2F21%2Fwool-eater-wednesday-progress%2F&media=http%3A%2F%2Fchimesdesign.com%2Fblog%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2012%2F03%2Fcal2012.jpg&description=Wool+Eater+Wednesday%3A+Progress" count-layout="none" class="pin-it-button" ><img border="0" style="border:0;" src="//assets.pinterest.com/images/PinExt.png" title="Pin It" /></a></div>
<p>So pretty. This is my favorite part — the teal + fuchsia + red + white.</p>
<p>Now what? I&#8217;m going to finish out the rest of the rows with the yarn I bought, and cross my fingers I don&#8217;t have to buy more. I think since the inside is so scrappy that I&#8217;m going to pick up a GIANT cheap ball of a solid neutral color and do 10-15 rounds to finish it out. I&#8217;m thinking a charcoal gray.</p>
<p>I wish I could get a giant ball of the gray/white mix I used in the 4th row. That would be marvelous. I could buy a bunch of skeins of it, but I don&#8217;t particularly want to spend $60-70 for additional yarn for what was going to be a stash-busting project.</p>
<p>Also — I want to do another one of these next year. And pick the yarns ahead of time to make a pretty blanket. This is turning out much less ugly than I anticipated, but I want to make a pretty one.</p>

<p>I made this cute baby blanket for a friend. It was really easy. I actually just used my method from <a href="http://chimesdesign.com/blog/2010/04/11/easy-handmade-napkins-for-a-housewarming-gift/" target="_blank">handmade napkins</a> but used larger pieces of fabric.  I sewed with fleece for the first (and hopefully last) time. That was an adventure! Fuzzies everywhere.  I almost poked my eye out finishing this thing too! My needle busted in half on the very last few stitches, flying up in the air and BARELY missing my eyeball. I should maybe think about wearing safety goggles?</p>
<p>Anyway, here it is! One side is fleece and the other side is cotton. She&#8217;s having a girl.  I know she likes pinks and teals together so I picked a fabric that I thought she would like.  It seems like something she would wear on a bag, scarf or another accessory.  I hope she loves it!</p>
