I’ve read some great and inspiring articles lately. Linkup here to share any that you’ve read or written, and I’ll promise to read them soon!
I haven’t linked up to Katie‘s Fitness Friday for a while, but I have a really great workout to share with you today. Sadly, I am not the creator of this brutal workout. My friend Jake posted this gem on Facebook last week: So naturally, I was all like, “challenge accepted, my friend.” Raise your […]
Not really, but close! I’m the winner of this week’s Best Body Bootcamp cash prize. I got $100. Considering I won an entry to the bootcamp, I’d say this is pretty darn lucky! For the love of Pete, I hope you get that reference. I found out last week that my roommate, who is 27, has never seen […]
(Trigger Warning: this post could be triggering to those who have had experience with eating disorders.) Last week when I checked in I mentioned that I was going to do Jamie Eason’s LiveFit Trainer again. This week I’ve been focusing on LiveFit and have shuffled my “rest” days since I had work commitments. I’ve been hitting my […]
So by week three of the Best Body Bootcamp, I finally decided to hit the gym. I realize this seems a little counter intuitive, but I’ve been avoiding the gym because I’m my own worst enemy. I get annoyed with myself anytime something starts to hurt and I have to quit (injuries, people, not just […]
I realized today that it hardly feels like I’ve been participating in a boot camp. I’ve been doing activity, and I’ve been hitting my goals of getting 7-9 hours of sleep and eating one home-cooked meal every day. However, I think I can step it up a bit. I’ve been worried about overdoing it. I […]
This week has been kind of a blur, but somehow, I’ve managed to keep up on the Best Body Bootcamp. For those of you who haven’t heard of Tina’s bootcamp, it’s a little different than you expect. Yes, she provides some pretty tough workouts, but they aren’t kill-yourself-style and the whole thing is very […]
By regularly scheduled programming, I don’t mean what I post on my blog — cuz that is never regular. I mean I’m going to try to get back to a regular fitness routine. And I’m linking up with my friend Katie to share. I’ve been moving. There’s no doubt about that. But I’ve been struggling […]
(Trigger Warning: this post could be triggering to those who have had experience with eating disorders.) Thank you to everybody for your support, and words of wisdom on Friday’s post, as well as any of my intuitive eating posts. An old coworker mentioned that she’s enjoyed seeing my growth the last year, and watching me […]
(Trigger Warning: this post could be triggering to those who have had experience with eating disorders.) Because most likely it’s not your job. Unless of course you are, in fact, PAID to be at the gym. Then, by all means … This post has been building in my brain for a while. It’s kind of […]
I’ve mentioned that I’ve been changing up my workouts lately, and this one has become one of my favorites. It combines a simple exercise most people can do: walking, with arm exercises. This burns calories, tones your arms, and helps build stabilizing muscles.
I’m linking up to Katie’s Marvelous in My Monday linkup party today. Click through to see what kind of things put Marvelous in other people’s Mondays. I hate Mondays. I know that’s cliché. But I really do. Especially right now. Today marks two weeks until Mark and I move (and he moves away!) and I’m […]
Have you run a 5K before? Walked one? Are you thinking about it? Then get your butt off the couch and sign up for The Color Run™ in Des Moines next weekend! Anybody can do it, and this particular run is extra fun — fun for families, non-runners, non-athletes — pretty much anybody. What is […]
