August Creative Challenge: Week 2 Recap

August 2017 Creative Challenge: Write Every Day

August Creative Challenge: Write Something Every Day

I’m continuing my July Creative Challenge! I set out to re-establish my daily writing habit and fell short of my goal. Supposedly it takes 21 days to form a new habit, so maybe if I can write 21 days in a row I can re-establish my habit of writing every morning. I can try! (Again!)

Goal for this challenge

Literally: write something daily.

How am I measuring “something”?

“Something” means a piece of writing that I review and edit before sending into the world.  This blog post counts (although I don’t do as hard of an edit on my posts as I should…)

What to work on next week…

Set a goal to finish a project or projects or set a word count. I didn’t want to box myself into a project during these last two challenges because I know that if I do it sets me up for failure if I’m not where I expect to be by a certain point in the challenge or if I get disinterested the project I chose. But without a goal of any kind, I can easily skip out on my daily writing habit, especially in the name of exhaustion when everything else is so busy.

Let’s try this for now: Finish all blog post drafts. I’m down to about 10 unfinished posts in my queue.

What other ideas do you have for things I can write to help me re-establish this habit? OR Do you have any good sources for writing exercises/story prompts?

Love on ya, chimes
