I realized today that it hardly feels like I’ve been participating in a boot camp. I’ve been doing activity, and I’ve been hitting my goals of getting 7-9 hours of sleep and eating one home-cooked meal every day. However, I think I can step it up a bit.
I’ve been worried about overdoing it. I did the fit test on Saturday and I realized that I have been underdoing it (is that a word? it’s not? it is now). I could barely hold a wall sit for a minute. I barely did 25 pushups in a minute. These might be great numbers for somebody else, but these numbers show me that I am out of shape.
So this week, I’m going to make a goal to move more — at least 30 minutes a day. And, this might sound weird, to actually SWEAT and get out of breath from a workout. I can’t remember the last time that happened. I know that you don’t always have to feel like you’re dying to get in a good workout, but it’s a good rule of thumb to “max out” once a week (hit the higher end of your heart rate, and get good and sweaty and pant-y).
I’ve also recruited Mark in this endeavor. He’s job searching, but otherwise has a lot of time on his hands (haha, sorry buddy). So why not hit the gym?
Have you ever felt like you weren’t giving something your all?

Hi there. I'm Calee (pronounced CAL-e). If that's too hard, just call me Cal. Also known as chimes or the chimes. I'm 28ish, a designer, a runner, a self-proclaimed fitness queen, a craftster, a foodie, a music snob — some might call me a hipster. Here's the unabridged version.
