*lightbulb* + feeling stitchy on this marvelous monday.
I got a ton of great feedback on my post yesterday about a poster project I’m working on for a class. Thanks to all of you, I’ve come up with the best solution for this poster. I’ll share the new version when I’ve got it designed. I only have one shot at it, so I can’t re-do it once it’s done. You’ll see what I mean when I post it (though, I’m going to have to make you click through to get the image because it’s going to be NSFW). You told me that you saw a brain (it’s a butt. and there’s even an asterisk in a strategically planned location). And I still think that the poster in this form is too cutesy. It needs to be kinda gross.
However, I think I’m going to print #15 and turn it in anyway (along with my new solution) because I really like the lettering that I did (and spent way too long on it!), and I think it’s a cool-looking poster. Although, I’m a huge fan of both of these versions (printing the top version on a skin-textured paper):
But, all is not lost! I’ve discovered that I can do some pretty sweet psychedelic lettering, and I’ve been tapped to do another poster for the Roosevelt Summer Sundays concert series this year. I think psychedelic rock poster typography will fit perfectly.
To add even more excitement to my marvelous Monday, I won a giveaway. I never win giveaways! Even though I host a bunch of them. I think I’ve only won a few.
Feeling Stitchy was giving away Anna Marie Horner’s new book, so I’ll be getting a copy in the mail soon.

Beautiful! I’m already inspired.

Have you won a giveaway (or lottery) before?

Hi there. I'm Calee (pronounced CAL-e). If that's too hard, just call me Cal. Also known as chimes or the chimes. I'm 28ish, a designer, a runner, a self-proclaimed fitness queen, a craftster, a foodie, a music snob — some might call me a hipster. Here's the unabridged version.

I wish I was creative like you! My sister Mindy who is a graphic designer is and I wish I had that kind of brain!
Miss you and love ya girl!!!

Yessss I’m glad I picked a winner (#15). That is almost like winning a giveaway. Maybe? I have won giveaways before. Not as much as I’d like to.
Of course, I feel like I’m spoiled by some companies, and so working with them is like winning giveaways all the time, you know?

Ha! I didn’t even notice the asterisk! I kinda feel like I just won something since #15 is the one I picked the other day!
