Sweet Tunes Thursday: Zombie Apocalypse Playlist – life+running

Sweet Tunes Thursday: Zombie Apocalypse Playlist

I’m glad that the world is finally getting over sparkly vampires and is embracing zombies. And if somebody makes zombies sparkle, I might cry.

One of my Facebook friends notified me of this zombie apocalypse playlist put together by People Magazine. Ignore who put it together, and take a look at the songs on the playlist. Some are pretty obvious:

Zombie by The Cranberries.
Thriller by Michael Jackson.
Brain Stew by Green Day.

Others on the list are a little more creative:
Hungry Eyes by Eric Carmen.
I’ve Got You Under My Skin by Frank Sinatra.
Once Bitten Twice Shy by Great White.

Hilarious. I thoroughly enjoyed, so I had to share.

David Bowie released a new album this week. I’m a big Bowie fan. This album released in his 70th year is just as creative as something he might have released in his 30s.

I must admit that I listened to Justin Timberlake’s new album. I didn’t catch all of it though, because it streams for free on iTunes, but you can only listen once. I foolishly forgot to hit “pause” before heading to class yesterday. It’s a fusion of Michael Jackson, Sinatra, and Prince. Obviously I approve.

Listened to anything good lately? Please share!

really? I love the cranberries. 🙂 I have a 90s grunge playlist somewhere.

  2. That’s a fun playlist.

Re: JT. I’ve never enjoyed his music, so I thought it was pretty funny when I heard his new music that everyone hated, and love it. Thanks for the tip about iTunes – I’ve been wanting to listen to the whole thing!

    Fun fact: I love JT’s music (post-nsync).

PS I need to catch up on your blog at some point. And we need to be non-hermits together at some point soon. Or we can hermit together. I typically do freelance on Sundays and just sit in my PJs most of the day and watch a dorky TV series while doing it.

  4. Hungry Eyes! Bahaha! Love it!

    Streaming that JT album…NOW!

I’ve been listening to “Symptoms” by Atlas Genius over and over the past week or so! I’m seriously in love with them!

Can’t wait to incorporate a few of these into my Zombies Run playlist! Spring can NOT come soon enough!!

  6. Despite my undying love for Justin, I haven’t heard his album…but his Veganville song from Saturday night has been played a rather excessive amount of times. 🙂

My favorite themed playlists were ones I made in college when I would try to match the mood or lyrics of a song to the way I imagined a perfect day. Thinking about morning and evening and whatnot.
