It goes without saying that I’ve not had a great week. I fell on Sunday and hurt my knee pretty bad. Mark fell on the same patch of ice and hurt his wrist. I missed a few days of work. And all of this originated because we were trying to take extra special care of our doggie, who seemingly is starting to have back problems.

Barney started “asking” for help to get on furniture in the last month. He’s quit jumping up, but he still jumps down. I made the executive decision that he is no longer allowed on furniture because the fact that he isn’t able to jump up probably means that he’s in some sort of pain, and that jumping down from furniture isn’t going to help him. Just think: jumping off the couch to a 6-inch tall dog is like jumping off a 1-2 story building for a person. Yikes.

So, I made him a little bed and am bribing him into using it. He’s humped torn apart every other bed that I’ve gotten him, so I quit bothering. Now, I’m concerned. I don’t want a paralyzed wiener dog. That would be so sad! So we’re going to baby him (and even carry him up and down the one step off the porch onto the grass to go potty).

(and yes, that is definitely one of Mark’s shirts that I sewed into a sleeping sack / blanket for the dog)

I’m taking him to see my friend who’s a vet student this evening. She’s almost done with school, and suggested I see her before I make a $150 vet appointment (seriously. appointment only).

Injured family aside, I was thrilled to see this box on my porch last night.

I knew that I was getting something from Chobani, but I had no idea how cool of a package I was about to open.

They even sent along a “silver” spoon (Mark’s new favorite spoon, btw).

I flipped through the literature they sent and saw a familiar face. I’m pretty sure that this is my friend Kelly’s babycakes.

What was inside the box? A whole load of new Chobani products and flavors. I’m not a banana fan, so I let Mark try the banana. I took a bite of all the other flavors, and before I knew it, two of the fig + orange peel Chobani bites were gone.

I guess you can say I found a new favorite flavor.

Thanks so much, Chobani, for brightening my week!
