because I miss myspace. and 2003. – life+running

because I miss myspace. and 2003.

I like doing surveys from time to time. I don’t know if anybody likes reading them, but I don’t care. It’s my blog; I do what I want. I used to do a ton of these when myspace was a thing, and over e-mail before social networks even existed. I dug and dug for some really old-school surveys in my ancient e-mail inboxes from old e-mail addresses, but alas, nothing came up.

Also, the featured image is a myspace-esque photo. You’re welcome.

Not sure who originated this, but I’ve seen it on a bunch of other blogs, so here is the Last Chance Survey. Also, not gonna lie. Wrote this a few days back when I was bored.

Mixed fruit. I had some leftover from a catered meeting this week, which was great because I didn’t pack my lunch today.

Last beverage you drank?

Tazo Awake … pre-run fuel.

Last workout?

45 min cardio + 30 min strength + 10 min yoga + 2 minute plank

Last thing you pinned?

Honestly, I don’t know … I think it was Averie Cooks because I was stalking her recipes for cookies to pin on my Whole Foods contest board.

I went home for Thanksgiving last week. Does that count? If not, then Minnesota for The Smashing Pumpkins.

Last time you did ab work?

Planking 1+ minutes every day in December.

Beverly Hills 90210. Be still my heart. It’s Jason Priestly in 1991.

Last thing you baked?

Butternut squash for some puree to freeze for various squash-ing antics.

What is the last thing you Instagramed?

Yesterday’s lame-ass plank (now all my IG followers know when I wrote this).

Last item on your to-do list today?

Plan meals and get groceries!

Do you like sprints, or do you like steady state better?

Steady state for sure. I love LSD (long, slow distance for you non-running folk).

Do you need coffee to get going in the morning?

Gross. No. That would make me so hard to be around. I have tea, but I use the same teabag all week because I’m cheap and also a little gross, so by the end of the week I’m just drinking hot water.

Pick a question above and answer it in the comments! Thanks for playing along.

  1. I like long slow distance running too 🙂

  2. One of my friends was telling me that the Current was playing Ukelele music the other day.

Beginning to think I should check it out!

YES. listen to the current. i’m a sustaining member and i love it. so much.

  3. Two things:
    1. Omg, freezing pureed squash makes so much more sense than freezing an intact half of a squash, like i always do. Thaks for the idea!
    2. You use a teabag for a week?! How…? Lol to me it’s already too weak the second time around.

      1) yes. definitely puree that shiz before freezing it!

      2) and yes. I’m getting better though. i should clarify that this is just for my AM wake-me-up tea. I have been changing after 2-3 days now.

  4. (Sigh) I love this. [That was a sigh of ‘yes, I get it!’]

    Reusing tea bags? Check.
Loving LSD? Check. [Didn’t know it until you told me about that terminology though…]
Wishing I could drink tea before a run but I have to stop drinking fluids a few hours before and then only just half of my blender bottle of aminos or else I will have to pee 3 miles in? Check.

your aminos should be caffeinated enough for a run! i hear ya sista about not doing certain things before running. there are certain things i must do before running. also, all my routes have bathroom stops along the way.

  5. […] confess. Tuesday’s post about myspace and 2003 and surveys left me wanting to find any survey from my previous life that I could re-post here. Because, let me […]

  6. […] don’t really consume much caffeine. I have a cup of green tea every morning, but as you found out last week, I use the same bag every day for about a week (I’m gross, I know), so really, I’m not […]

  7. OMG SURVEYS. I used to do these ALL THE FREAKING TIME. I’m… I’m kind of tempted to do one again now. Hmm.
