30 Days of Thanks. – life+running

30 Days of Thanks.

No, don’t worry, I’m not hopping on the thankful bandwagon. I’ll be glad when that’s over.

Really, there’s only one thing I’ve been thankful for this entire month of November.

It’s that the last of the Twilight series has finally hit the theatres!

I think I’m more excited than all the fans.

In fact, I can’t wait for the end of it. Scrolling through blogs that I read regularly has become ever-so-painful with Twihard updates left and right. It’s almost as bad as when 50 Shades of S&M Bad Writing Gray was a thing this past summer.

I can remember sitting on Mark’s parents’ couch 4ish years ago and seeing my first glimpse of the Twilight series via a trailer. Mark and I both looked at each other and said, “Wow, I don’t know what that is, but that is going to suck. Hard.” (OK, maybe not that exact quote, but that sums it up).

So, to celebrate what is hopefully the end of the Twilight craze, I bring you Buffy The Vampire Slayer slaying Edward. This is kind of long, so just skip to 4:30 if you want to see the slaying. Because I know I would love to see Edward burst into a pile of dust (rumor has it Robert Pattison does too).

Ah. Much better.

What’s really scary is that the acting in the Buffy scenes is much better than the Twilight scenes. Or maybe it’s just the writing …

Twilight fan? I won’t judge. Okay. Maybe a little.

You know that 50 Shades of Gray started as Twilight fan fiction right? She only changed the names from Edward and Bella when she got a contract.

yes. barf. which is why it was terrible from the get-go.

  2. Okay, this is SO AWESOME. I wish I had the talent to do this. This may be my new favorite video.

I’m one of those annoying Twi-hards, but it will never beat Buffy. I would agree, the acting is way better – and the writing is way, way better.

Now I’m pretty sure I need to spend my day off watching as much Buffy as I can fit in.

You’ve redeemed your Twihardedness with Buffy fandom. Especially since you read the comics!! 🙂

      1. Haha I’m glad. I also have action figures. They’re pretty awesome.

  3. I’m NOT a fan of the Twilight series. Never got into it . . . and I had to try not to laugh too much when I watched the first movie.

  4. i love everything about this post. 🙂

All of my Tumblr friends would agree with this.

It is really sad that 50 shades is what the public thinks fanfic is like when I have read much much better fics.

I’ve seen plenty of posts about Patterson’s hatred of Twilight. It is highly amusing. He definitely hates it more than I do.

The Host is coming out but I found that tolerable compared to the first page of Twilight.

I just googled “the host” … and all I saw was the first sentence on wikipedia that said “… parasitic alien …”. It already sounds WAY better than Twilight could ever have hoped to be.

  6. I love how you think your dorkiness is superior to my dorkiness. 😀

    1. chimes says: Reply

It’s not superior. It’s just much better written. 😛

Also, I’m embarrassed that I still don’t really love star wars. I love star wars STUFF, but not so much the movies …

      1. I think i have a tendency to turn people off to Star Wars by telling them it’s the BEST THING EVER. It just appeals to some people and not to others, i guess.
