Sweet Tunes Thursday: 10 Favorite Albums #9 + #HLTT

I was waiting to get my hair cut last night, and I was tricked into reading Shape because Jillian was on the cover. I read her article and foolishly kept flipping through. Until I found this:

Shape magazine's ridiculous spread about working out — with heels and skinny jeans on the models // lifeplusrunning.com

Who does that (besides Laura — haha)?

Anyway, last week I told you I was going to give you 5 of my favorite albums. Mark and I got to talking I realized that 5 wasn’t enough. And that I can’t give mine to you in any particular order.

So this week, I give you Jimmy Eat World’s Futures.

I have some bittersweet memories with Kill and 23 (I can still taste the tears when I listen to 23 … breakups suck, but I got the BEST end of that deal), but I have the best memories of listening to this album the summer that I fell in love with running.

Night Drive is probably one of my favorite Jimmy Eat World songs, and it’s on this album. It’s beautiful, and haunting, and Jimmy.

Also, I wanted to share this easy peasy smoothie recipe that I’ve been digging all week. It is Healthy Living Thirsty Thursday after all.

Peanut Butter Milkshake Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein (1/4 c)
  • 1/4 c peanut flour
  • 2-3 ice cubes
  • 8-10 oz almond milk

Instructions

  1. Pour ingredients into a blender until smooth.
  2. You can use peanut butter instead of peanut flour, but that will have less protein and more fat.

And if you’re wondering where to get peanut flour, the only place I’ve found it is iHerb.com. Whole Foods (in Chicago) didn’t even carry it. If you’re new to iHerb, use my handy-dandy code for some sweet deals (it lives on my sidebar in case you lose it):

iherb coupon code for $5 off $20 or $10 off $40

Do you have songs that you just CAN’T listen to anymore because of the memories associated with them?

And have you ever tried peanut flour?

Or iHerb.com (it is the BEST)?

  1. I love peanut flour! I also buy it from iHerb. I just posted a Thai zucchini and cabbage recipe using it within the past week. 🙂

YUM. I’m stalking that up. I have actually been wanting to use that PB&Co spicy PB for a thai recipe, but haven’t gotten around to it yet.

  2. I need a special mood to really get into Jimmy Eat World… but I’m glad they’re there when the mood strikes.

    1. Agreed. Also, EVE 6??? I freaking loved that album.

      1. That Eve 6 album and one from The Strokes always make me think of road trips back in the day.

  3. I definitely need to try peanut flour!! NEED!! 😉

  4. I definitely have bad memories associated with songs and it stinks because they are good songs…can’t remember them now but yes most of them are associated with guys…because I am a lame girl lol 😉 and a whole CD that is associated with a rough time I was having but the music helped get me through and now I can’t really listen to it because I don’t need it anymore..does that even make sense?
