Tu-tu-tu-Tuesday: Wool Eater Blanket – life+running

Tu-tu-tu-Tuesday: Wool Eater Blanket

I just taught my last crochet class of the semester last night. And I’ve gotten back into crochet lately because of that class.

I’ve been drooling over these gorgeous Wool Eater Blankets lately …

I found this on this awesome crochet blog by Sarah London. I’ve been drooling over her stuff. And have pinned all her patterns for safekeeping.

I decided to work my way through this pattern. But there’s a catch (there’s always a catch). I can only use STASH yarn. I need to burn through it so I can get more.

And if I succeed and like it, then I can buy yarn for a planned out crochet project.

I’m really bad about UFOs with crochet. I have so many big projects, but then never finish them. So I must finish this before buying any new yarn. Or run out of yarn. Whichever comes first.

The pattern is really easy to follow. I’ve been obsessing over it and doing it in every spare moment. I don’t have photos of where I’m currently at, but here’s my baby wool-eater.

As you can already see, it’s not going to be anywhere near as pretty as Sarah’s blanket. BUT … I’m using stash yarn, and I don’t like much of what I have stashed. This is the perfect project to get rid of it. I have used 6-8 skeins already. And still going. My blanket is currently about 1.5’x2.5′. And it is going to be WARM.

Check out the crochet-along photos for this on flickr. All the projects are amazing!
